The Mainstreet Farmhouse plan is brought to you by the same couple who created Moose Ridge Lodge. This build finds them creating the perfect primary home for their family or four. With two young children…
Yankee Barn Homes could not be more excited to announce we are once again working with the dynamic couple who brought us Moose Ridge Lodge. This time they’re building a main house in the modern farmhouse style, thus it’s aptly called The Main Street Farmhouse. At 2600 sq ft with 3 bedrooms and 2 and ½ baths, this will be downsizing from …
Post and beam homes and barns are a wonder to watch go up. For starters, they erect so quickly you might miss it if you aren’t at the site for a week. Secondly, it’s a thrill to see the beauty in the magnificent frame; a stunning skeleton, if you will. There’s something so solid in those timbers, seeing that frame you know your home is going to exceed everything you’d expected. It is an exhilarating experience and a marvel to see. YBH recently received a progress report and construction photos from the owners of The Cooperstown Farmhouse. Take a look…
Last week we met Sandy and his wife, newly minted homeowners of a Yankee Barn farmhouse known as Freedom Hill. Today we’ll take you inside the farmhouse and relay the story of how the farmhouse came to be and the wonderful story of lifetime friendships that played a role in the name of this house.…
This is a story of a farmhouse named “Freedom Hill”. We’ll get to the origins of the name in part two of this post. Today, I want to relay how this Yankee Barn came to be. The homeowners always dreamed of building a post and beam and, as now happens quite often, found us on…
The Proctor farmhouse, a post and beam home by Yankee Barn, is looking good. Nearing completion, the homeowners have been working like crazy to complete their home in time for the summer season. It has been an amazing project to watch (see Floor Plans and Update for previous posts on this home). The homeowners have…
When we last saw this post and beam farmhouse being built in Dunstable, MA, the home moved out of the drafting software stage and was becoming a reality. New England winter storms were raging, but building was occurring. Now we have photos of progress over the past month. It’s really quite amazing, both inside and…
This post and beam farmhouse is going to be a beauty. Originally presented as renderings and floor plans in a previous post, The Proctor is a barn home farmhouse designed to provide that sense of permanence and stability we all need in our home. Nothing does this better than the solid (and beautiful) post and…

This Yankee Barn cottage on Lake Champlain is pretty near perfect. The body of the house is not all that large, yet the building has space for everything you’d need in a lakeside cottage. The best feature is the fantastic wrap around screened-in porch that faces the lake. Used by day as a place to have…
From the first post entry on this barn home, Yankee Barn Homes in The Hamptons, through several other posts on the progress of the home, this post is what we’ve been waiting for: the professionally photographed pictures of this stunning contemporary barn home. Jeffery Rosen, both architectural designer and interior decorator for this project, has…

I never thought the professionally taken photographs would begin to come in so soon after posting on this house. Guess what? I could not have been more wrong! These exterior photos are so clean and clear, at…
