The Mainstreet Farmhouse plan has come along quickly. The build began this past spring and is now in its final stages of completion. This is going to be a very nice post and beam home. The progress photos make us more excited to see the finished house.
The Mainstreet Farmhouse plan is brought to life by the same couple who created Moose Ridge Lodge. This build finds them creating the perfect primary home for their family or four. With two young children, the house needs to be a place where the family is comfortable now and in the future. The floor plan has been designed accordingly. Lofted spaces are on the second level while the first level has an open design with standard 9 foot ceilings. The post and beam frame allows for a sense of intimacy without the use of walls. Zones are created by furniture and fixtures in the first level living spaces.
Mainstreet Farmhouse exhibits the same creativity found in Moose Ridge Lodge. A great deal of thought has gone into finding elements which convey the sense of an updated farmhouse. From the repurposed sliding pantry door to the old farmhouse kitchen sink (now found in a half bath), creative touches combine to define this couple’s interpretation of farmhouse style. The stair railing is wood and powder-coated hog fencing in place of balusters. Definitely an unusual use for hog fence!
We’ll continue to feature The Mainstreet Farmhouse as it goes from a construction site to a lived-in home for this active family. The transition is actually happening as I write, so please check back. I’m sure to have updates coming soon.
