Post and Beam Living is thrilled to announce an exciting new monthly feature called Design Talk with Jeffrey Rosen, an interview series focused on anything and everything to do with design and decor in today’s home design. Our expert in the field will be Jeffrey Rosen, Principle Designer at Jeffrey Rosen Interior Design, Inc., located…
Barn home kitchen styles might conjure up thoughts of a rehabbed barn with unfinished beans and a country style kitchen in one corner of the open space. While this is one way to go, and many did so in the 1970’s, post and beam kitchens have come a long way since the ’70’s. At Yankee…
This barn home has been featured once before in Post and Beam Living. However, seeing as I’m currently focusing on homes designed by Jeffery Rosen, Creative Director at Yankee Barn Homes, I felt it well worth another look. This house is the epitome of an unadorned barn style, but don’t be misled by the use…
All sorts of things are happening at Yankee Barn Homes these days; not the least of which are all the new build-projects. Carriage houses, barn homes, an English cottage, and a business organization’s lodge style retreat, to name but a few. Oh, and did I mention there’s a complete remodel taking place at the Yankee…
One of the best features about building a Yankee Barn Homes post and beam cottage is the amazing amount of leeway clients may take with a given floor plan. The following two cottages, which have already been built by Yankee Barn, are excellent examples of the same basic plan conceptualized in two different ways. This…

Whether the edge of the body of water is a lake, a pond, the ocean, a stream or pool; it doesn’t really matter. When it comes to siting a post & beam home, the water’s edge makes a dynamite choice. Over the years, Yankee Barn Homes has designed and built quite a few houses on…
