The Cabot barn house has been completed. When we last updated this barn home it was early summer and building was progressing nicely (see floor plans here). Since then a whole lot of gorgeous has been happening with this open concept barn. All you need do is glance through the photos to see this is no ordinarily barn style home. Yankee Barn doesn’t do ordinary and neither do our clients. For starters, this house happens to be overlooking the Presidential Range in the White Mountains of NH, so we knew views were going to play a large role in the design of this home.
As with all Yankee Barn Homes plans, The Cabot floor plan may be adjusted to suit. The owners began with the concept of two bedrooms on the second level (as you can see in the 2367 sq ft floor plans) then decided to go with just the one upper level bedroom/bath. This brought their home down to 2004 sq ft. No problem. YBH is a custom design company, therefore we build exactly what you want and need.
Built for an empty nest couple desiring a single floor living experience, beautifully lofted spaces abound and walls of windows take advantage of 360 degree views. Upon entry, you’re immediately introduced to the great room. This is one of those “gee whiz” homes where you just keep seeing great spaces. To the right is a large dining room which flows into the spacious kitchen. Presiding over it all is the warm and solid post and beam frame. The architecture of the frame is such that it takes center stage, but never detracts from other features of the barn house. Isn’t it gorgeous?
Coming in a 2004 square feet (yes, this configuration is a small barn home!!!), the original 2367 sq ft plan has 3 bedrooms, 2.5 baths and a catwalk. The owners decided a 2 bedroom, 2.5 bath barn house would suit their needs better, so you’ll notice the catwalk and third bedroom do no exist in this build. Any way you choose, The Cabot is an open concept floor plan designed to impress while functioning with ease. The Yankee Barn lifestyle at it’s best!
I noticed on the way home each day that there is a rather interesting structure being errected along my route in Vineyard Haven, Martha’s Vineyard. On further inspection I noticed it is one of your Yankee Barns. Great Job!

Good luck in the New Year.
