Barn home plans are a hot commodity in our Yankee Barn post and beam world, and none are looking more beautiful than The Cabot. Currently being built on a gorgeous mountain view lot, the barn style home is blossoming into a truly unique build. We at Post and Beam Living are SO envious of this house and its views!
When last we saw this house, the barn home plans were just underway; check it out here THE CABOT. Since then, a great deal of both exterior and interior work has taken place. As anyone with housing industry experience can attest, the build process slows as detail and finish work takes place within a house. Having first hand experience with a Yankee Barn build myself, I can relate to the sense of time dragging during this phase. HOWEVER, now with it behind me, I can also say the time really wasn’t long at all. It was actually amazingly quick. In The Cabot’s case, compare the photos of the build from January with the most recent photos of the interior.
In this set of barn home plans, the layout is classic. A middle off-set entrance allows for a staircase and half bath placement as part of the entryway, which opens onto a floor plan that includes great room, dining room and kitchen. As you enter this home you see through a vaulted ceiling great room to a wall of windows that emphasizes the amazing mountain views. The second level of the home has another unique barn home feature: the catwalk. Called The Bridge on our plans, this allows for a “barn loft” look and feel to the entire post and beam structure.
We will be checking back on The Cabot again with more updates, and of course, the all-important Final Reveal. Please let us know what you think about this home and any other barn home plans you’d like to see featured on our blog!
