I last covered this barn home in a recent post, A Shingle Style Post and Beam Gets Underway. Since then, interior work on this East Hampton home has begun – with a big interruption from Hurricane Sandy – and the finish work is under way. I thought you might like to see a few construction photos of what has occurred thus far, along with the floor plans for this home (please keep in mind these photos were taken pre-Sandy). Due to the major disruption of the hurricane, time tables for completion are now up in the air. We will keep you posted as we learn more.
Barn Home Shingle Style Interior
The interior of the home has been designed to mimic the turn of the century with Shingle Style homes, but with all of the needs for today’s active family considered. You may notice from the floor plans that only the kitchen and the master bedroom are post and beam while the remainder of the home is not. Some call this a “hybrid” post and beam, we just like to call it one fantastic house!
