Single Floor Living in a Multilevel Yankee Barn

Single floor living in a multilevel home is one of the most popular “aging-in-place” floor plan designs now being created at YBH. As previously discussed in the post Next-Gen Housing at Yankee Barn, we find our clients are building multilevel homes that suit the needs of family at all stages in life. Today’s clients are looking for a home that suits them now and down the road. This is an evolution from those who built to allow their parents to age-in-place with them. Today’s buyers are also considering themselves and their eventual needs, in the mix.

Whether it’s an empty nest couple planning for grandchildren or a family with children building their forever home, clients are savvy not only about their present situation, but also in their consideration for down- the-road single floor living needs. Yankee Barn has created numerous floor plans to accommodate our clients, while doing so in differing architectural styles and build-site situations. The result has been quite spectacular.

The architecture and floor plans are as individual as the client; no two YBH designs are completely alike. Yankee Barn Homes is a true custom-design firm. This allows potential clients to browse existing plans and extrapolate features they like while configuring a design which suits individual requirements and taste. Consequently, our single floor living designs come in all shapes, sizes and styles. From smaller homes to the expansive layout, we’ve designed them in every architectural style you can imagine (see last week’s article on our new Mid Century Modern design, The Mad River Modern). Pictured here is a small sample of what we’ve designed. There are many more floor plans and layouts on our website from which to choose. Let us help you plan for now, and in the future.
