Barn house plans in your future? Then you’ve come to the right place and Chris Sevigny, Director of Production/Architecture for Yankee Barn Homes, is someone you’ll want to know. We recently spoke to Chris about what it is he does at YBH and how he’s involved with each client who builds with Yankee Barn Homes.
YBH: Tell Us A Bit About Yourself
Chris: I have lived in New Hampshire all my life and currently live in Warner, NH with my wife and two young children. I enjoy anything outdoors and spending time with friends and family.
YBH: 12 Years At YBH, What Keeps You Here?
Chris: I have been at YBH for 12 years and feel I have been able to grow with the company. It is nice to play a part in making our clients dream of owning a YBH come true. I enjoy the process of being able to see the barn house plans happen from start to finish.
YBH: Explain Your Job Process
Chris: I oversee the AET (Architectural Engineering Technology)and production departments while working closely with everyone at YBH to achieve the best service and product for our clients.
I set the schedule for shop drawings and production along with overseeing the shop drawings, product development and estimating of all barn house plans. I order materials, coordinate shipping, on-site construction, and facility upkeep.
Once the job goes into “Build”, I interact with clients and builders to make sure production is on schedule with the estimated delivery date. I provide samples of materials for approvals.
I communicate frequently with the builder and customer throughout the YBH Shell erection process and remain available to answer questions after the fact. I get a lot of questions from homeowners when the finishes are being done. I either give them the information they’re looking for or steer them in the right direction to find the answers they need.
YBH: What’s Next At YBH?
Chris: We have quite a few barn house plans getting ready for production as well as ready to ship out. We have three houses currently going up, including the Sugarhouse. The houses in production include The Menemsha and The Cabot. Among the houses ready to ship is Mansfield Hollow. We are busy, busy, busy and I wouldn’t want it any other way!
