GOING UP!
Perch Pond is not only going up, by the time you read this the shell will be up and enclosed. But let me back up. Perch Pond is a new design from Yankee Barn Homes that was inspired by our Roost. The Roost lives in the mid-west and is used as a hunting lodge by the owners. Perch Pond lives in the Northeast and has a mountain setting. This small house is in the perfect spot for a nature-loving couple.
Perch Pond is 1,276 square feet with one bedroom and one and one-half baths. The design also also includes addition space on the lower level (accessible via both the house interior and a walk-out basement access) and a detached 900 square feet two car garage. All in all, Perch Pond is a small post and beam design that has plenty of usable space.
Empty Nesting Is FUN!
Perch Pond will be a home where the new owners and their dogs can work, play, and simply breath the fresh mountain air. One fun perk not discovered until lot-clearing began is the a-m-a-z-i-n-g view from the front porch. Porch sitting will definitely include binoculars!
The floor plan is perfect for two people. An open living area will encompass living, dining and kitchen space. The living room will have French doors that open onto a deck. Just beyond the kitchen and abutting the deck is a mud room that also houses a laundry area and half-bath. Behind the kitchen wall is the main bedroom and a stairwell that goes up to loft space (a flex room that is both a guest bedroom and yoga space for these homeowners) and a down staircase leading to the lower level. The lower level will have more storage space, but could also include another bedroom/office or a flex-room.
Our Representative, Jennifer Hastings, recently received the nicest message from the owners. Jennifer shared it with me, so of course I had to share it, too.
“So hard to believe what has been accomplished. We first met with you over Labor Day weekend. Which, of course, we are still thankful for! And now, here it is Memorial Day weekend and we have a house! And a garage! Truly AMAZING! All thanks to the incredible YBH Team. Go team!”
