Every year at this time, Post & Beam Living does a story on all the behind-the-scenes fun that takes place at the Yankee Barn Homes’ office. This usually includes a lot of silliness, a turkey cooked in a trash can (with accompanying video) and the Thanksgiving version of a company-wide bingo game, complete with prizes. The prizes can be anything from candy to lottery tickets. It’s always great food, great fun and a chance for everyone to enjoy one another in an entirely different setting than our work-a-day lives.
This year is very different. Most of us are not in the office; we’re working from home, linked via Zoom, Chat, and RingCentral. While it’s been productive and we’ve found ways to communicate, it’s very different and we’ve had to find ways to stay connected. It turns out most of us like to cook – or at least, eat. Some of us have even signed up for on-line cooking classes. This has resulted in some mouth-watering photos of what is being cooked and baked by Yankee Barn Homes employees. Often with accompanying recipes.
Others of us have taken to crafting, knitting or sewing. The photos show what we’ve been doing in our spare time since the weather has turned colder and the days have grown shorter.
For Thanksgiving this year, we decided since we couldn’t be together and show you our usual YBH Thanksgiving traditions, we’d share what we’re creating while Covid-19 keeps us apart. Hope you enjoy glimpses into what we do when we’re not designing and building gorgeous homes.
Have a safe and happy Thanksgiving holiday!
