Welcome to Seminiole cottage. No, this is not a spelling error, the name of this home is Seminiole. There’s a story behind the name.
THE SE”MINI”OLE
The name Seminiole was decided on by the new Yankee Barn homeowners for a good reason. The home will be constructed on an oceanfront family compound named Seminole. The property has been in the husband’s family for generations. Seminiole is a nod to the style, history, and name of the original 19th Century seaside cottage while acknowledging it’s smaller scale.
SEMINIOLE FIRST LEVEL
The shingle style exterior is in keeping with the ocean-side compound’s existing structures. The interior reflects today’s demand for an open, flexible floor plan with the amenities of a 21st Century home. An attached garage, a laundry room, storage closet, and walk-in kitchen pantry are just a few of the must-have items included in this floor plan. An open flow of space from kitchen to dining to living room is another popular feature. A first floor master suite, enclosed tv room/office with half guest lavatory, and a screened porch complete the first level.
SEMINIOLE SECOND LEVEL
The second level of Seminiole consists of three bedrooms, two full baths, a second screen porch, and an observation deck for coastal viewing.
The post and beam design affords the Seminiole a vaulted ceiling in the living room with dramatic visual appeal. The house uses a combination of post and beam and the YBH True Wall™ and True Roof™ panel system, throughout.
Post and Beam Living will track the progress of Seminiole as it goes from design to production to on-site. We will update as new photography becomes available.
