Thanksgiving is the one holiday where the central focus is on food, family, and friends. It is no wonder many believe it to be THE BEST holiday of the year. What could be better than spending time with those we hold dear while understanding the food we consume on this day has no calories. True Statement!
I have the luxury of spending Thanksgiving in a Yankee Barn home. No matter where family and friends are gathered, we can see and converse with one another. The post and beam frame allows our home to have no walls dividing the kitchen, dining and living room. People can move about freely while chatting with everyone, no matter the room they’re in. AND we do chat… and laugh… and reminisce! It’s completely wonderful and I am very grateful!
I live in The Bennington Carriage House. It’s not a big house by anyone’s definition. At 1,142 square feet, the 2 bedroom, 2 bath home is small. However, the post and beam structure with 17 foot high ceilings and an abundance of over-size windows, make the home feel large. When friends and family fill it, it’s a madhouse, albeit a joyous one. The open floor plan encourages socialization and interaction. In today’s hustle and bustle – and frankly , sometimes divisive atmosphere – social interaction is imperative. It is our time to reconnect and recall what we love about one another. For this reason alone, Thanksgiving is a day like no other. Spending the holiday in a Yankee Barn home is the icing on top!
The staff at Yankee Barn Homes wishes everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving! And remember, calories do not exist on this special day!
