Yankee Barn Homes is excited to announce an Architect Design Series tab is coming to our website. YBH has built in conjunction with architects for close to 50 years. We are creating a website page that will feature a collection of these homes.
A Yankee Barn Architect Design
Yankee Barn has a full-service design team, highly trained and skilled in designing your new home. Over 90% of our builds are designed in-house. However, some of our clients choose to work with an architect. Specific features come into the mix when an architect joins the project. An architect will design the YBH home as well as assist with the following:
Code Compliance and Jurisdiction Approvals – An architect has intimate knowledge of working with the building, planning, zoning and other jurisdiction officials. Codes and laws are often complex documents and are difficult for those outside of the building industry to understand. An architect makes sure your project is code compliant and abides by local requirements and standards. She/he understands the approvals and permitting process and can assist you in filling out the forms, filing for design reviews, and meeting with building officials.
Materials and Finishes Selection – Architects stay abreast of the latest construction materials and technologies in order to recommend materials and systems that fit a budget and save cost. An architect will help you choose materials and finishes.
Site Selection and Building Location – Architects can examine and compare various sites to find the right one for your needs and budget. Once you choose a site, an architect can perform a site analysis. They can review site features, topography, utility access, vehicular access and views to help you find the best location for your home.
The Yankee Barn home featured is designed by Ray Forehand and Christina Lake of Forehand + Lake. Known as Bear Paw Pond (sweet story behind the name, which we’ll share when the home is up). This house is going to be a stunner!
Yankee Barn Homes is excited about the addition of the Architect Design website page. Post and Beam Living will be sure to let you know when it goes live!
I like it! It gives you the casualness of the log cabin with out the bulk. Looks like great soaring windows like a lodge or craftsmen. What does it run per square foot?
