An early winter snow makes the perfect setting for a barn home. If you live in one and there’s snow flying, get out there and take some pictures; your future holiday cards will be made. One of our all-time favorite winter scenes is a post and beam barn we built for a tree farm in Tiverton, RI. Barn Home Holiday Interiors
The inside of a barn house holds endless potential for holiday decorating. The beautiful post and beam creates a stunning backdrop. The warmth of the timber frame combined with the decorations of the holidays is a perfect fit. All rooms can get in on the fun. The great room is the perfect place to spread “holiday cheer” by creating several ares where decorations will enhance the lifestyle of the room. In a room where the focal point is beautiful timbers, a vaulted ceiling and a possibly a fireplace, the key is to accentuate, not dominate. The kitchen presents decorating challenges as it’s a work-based room. But there are places where a touch of fun can be added such as widows, cupboard fronts, or a spare counter top (who has one of those?).
