As promised in our first post on Moose Ridge Lodge, we’re taking a closer look at this mountainside post and beam vacation home. Coming in at 1657 square feet, the second home has function and fun packed into every inch of the floor plan, all while making zero sacrifice to style. The house looks and feels exactly like what it is, a get-away place for family and friends to gather, relax, and make memories.
As evidenced in the floor plans below, the common area of the house is open concept, allowing people to move and interact freely from space to space. This includes a large deck off the front of the home which almost doubles the living space during warmer months.
Everywhere you look there are unique and interesting features the homeowners have added to make the space reflect their tastes and lifestyle. This home is truly about relaxation and a penchant for all things enjoyable.
Situated on a hillside overlooking the White Mountain range of NH, the views from the front wall of windows is astounding. No matter the season, a wide range of wildlife may be seen simply by looking out the window or through the telescope.
A great deal of thought and creativity went into this post and beam home. Take the industrial style pendant lights over the kitchen island. The use of commercial piping was painted black then used as conduit for the electrical wiring. It’s both ingenious and a look completely in keeping with this Yankee Barn.
The owners put it best, “Our goal with the design was to incorporate entertaining areas that would include children and adults. The open floor plan and large galley kitchen makes for perfect “friends-over dinners” where we serve potluck in a buffet style with ease. We think nothing of having 20-plus people in this house. Although on the smaller size, we utilized every space to maximize living/social areas. We wanted a place to make family memories so it needed to be more than a house, it needed to be a home we felt in our hearts.” Moose Ridge Lodge has lived up to the family’s wishes, and then some!
I really love this home and was wondering what the overall dimensions of this plan are and the size of the great room and kitchen.a

Can you please tell me the approximate cost to build this exact home (not including furniture or fixtures). We have a lot in mind in Gilford, NH that would be ideal for this type and size of home. Please email more information.
Thank you!

Thanks for you’re inquiry.
Hello! My husband and I were wondering the approximate cost to build this home? Also, are the plans customizable at all? We aren’t looking to change much, just to lengthen the dimensions of the house a bit to give us more space in the bedrooms and master bath.
Looking for the same as Casey above. Footprint and room dimensions, kit (?) cost and the cost to change blue prints to add length if we need to.
Hi Kimberly, I’ll forward your request on to our sales dept. You should hear from someone shortly. You may also email us at [email protected] or call us 800-258-9786, any time.
How did you handle the exterior flue of the wood stove? It seems it would have to be really tall(10-12feet) with the steeply pitched roof. Also what type of finish did you use on the pine floors? I love the house and layout.
We’re not certain of your first question as the flue was built by the finish builder (also the homeowner) so unfortunately, we don’t have the answer to that question. The pine floors were finished in a clear poly.
May I have information on costs too please?
Hi Katie, We do not list prices online and because our houses are custom builds, each one is different. Therefore, we price our homes by the cost to build per square foot. Please email us at [email protected] for the cost per sq ft of Moose Ridge Lodge. Thanks!
