Yankee Barn Homes is pleased to introduce a new expression in barn home design; The Barn at Oyster Shores. Unlike our traditional post and beam frame, this new barn home, designed by YBH Creative Director Jeffrey Rosen, will have a smooth, contemporary feel that implies a lightness and effortless sense of structure. No frame will be visible; the interior detailing will be minimal and imply modern, clean lines. The house will use the Yankee Barn Homes trademarked true roof and true wall insulated panel systems, providing one of the greenest options on the market today.
Yankee Barn Oyster Shores Exteriors
The outside walls of the barn home are dominated by over sized glass, making the interior a light-gathering space while conveying a sense of closeness to the out of doors. The exterior siding will be stained a dark neutral color to allow the remaining woods around the house to become the color focal point. The roof is metal; the windows are a dark bronze.
Yankee Barn Oyster Shores Floor Plans
The Yankee Barn is designed to look as though it grew into its space, carved by nature more than by man. With the large wall of glass facing Three Mile Harbor, an inlet of Long Island Sound, the views of land, water and sky are abundant any time of the day or night. Inside, natural light will play with the colors as light changes throughout the day. Seasonal color will add to the effect, as the light plays off the clean and contemporary lines of the barn home interior.
The design concept is expressed in an uncomplicated fashion that is completely traditional. The barn is at its base, rectangle and this home stays true to this centuries old practice. An urbane interior wrapped in a traditional exterior is the ideal juxtaposition of classic and new.

Hi Christina,
This home is currently going up. I don’t believe there is going to be a “model” per say of this home, however, I believe there may be a time it can be seen. I’ll send your request on to the staff at YBH. They can give you more detailed information. We often make “walk through” videos of our homes, so that’s one way you might “see” it.
