Two Small Builds In The Virginia Woods
If you been looking for great design in small builds, you’ve found it! The two cottage/cabin builds Yankee Barn Homes recently constructed are finished and ready for their debut.
Located just outside Charlottesville, Virgina, these two cabins are the perfect retreat for world-weary folks looking to seek a bit of down time. Owners Mark and Karen House have created the perfect place to get away from it all.
Cottage at the Barn
At 1,176 square feet, Cottage at the Barn is the larger of the two structures. The added footage allows this build to have a full kitchen/dining room and a small mudroom/laundry room in addition to it’s two full bedrooms and baths.
Cottage at the Barn is built on a slab but could also be built on a full or partial foundation. Mark and Karen chose to add both radiant heat in the floors and an HVAC system to their build.
The cottage is a perfect size if you’re looking to fit up to six people. It’s a wonderful design as either a vacation home or a guest house.
Split Rock Bunkhouse
Split Rock Bunkhouse is the smaller of the two builds at just 725 square feet. Also built on a slab, Split Rock can be a one or two bedroom plan with two baths. The entryway houses a kitchenette and small sitting area.
Even before our photoshoot was completed of these two small builds, we’ve had clients so intrigued with them both are currently being built. Check out Blue Crane Creek and Pleasant Ridge Cottage.
