Yankee Barn Panel Drawings and Estimating Team
The Yankee Barn Homes Panel and Estimating Team consists of three people. YBH Chief Operating Officer, Kerri Post, and YBH Director of Design & Production, Chris Sevigny, also work with this team as required. Today’s focus will be on these three people, Estimator Jay Fountain, Panel Drawings Andrew Williams, and Shop Drawing Supervisor Sean Marsh.
How Long Have You Been In Building?
Jay: I’ve been in the industry 20 years, not including my 6 years in school.
Andrew: 26 years, including 19 at Yankee Barn Homes
Sean: I’ve been in the business for 45 years and with Yankee Barn since 1997.
What’s New or Interesting Right Now In Your Department?
Jay: Right now I’m working on streamlining the number of programs used for estimating.
Andrew: I am currently updating our production design process with the newest version of CADworx software.
Sean: Developing systems to assure quality and productivity with MRE design productivity.
What Are Clients Requesting?
Jay: Certain layouts, certain rooms, larger floor plans, smaller plans, anything you can think of that people are looking for in a new home. To me it seems like people are asking to modify whatever project or model we are promoting at the time they are ready for design.
Andrew: Specific layouts, specialty rooms, plans from small to very large. A lot of customization – nothing new there. More modern architectural structures especially with minimal roof pitches.
Sean: More modern/contemporary designs than we’ve seen in the past, but traditional also remains popular.

Jay: I’m taking it way back with the Narragansett.
Andrew: I can’t specify just one. Every design has its challenges and appeals.
Sean: I always come back to Cove Hollow.
