Frame Options Run The Spectrum at YBH
At Yankee Barn Homes you are in the driver’s seat when it comes to frame options. How much or how little post and beam frame is used in your new home is completely up to you. Our design team helps you not only design your custom home, but helps you decide how much timber frame you want and where you want it placed. Some of our clients even prefer to have no timber frame, designing and building a completely panelized home.
The choice is always yours when you build with Yankee Barn Homes.
Full Post and Beam Frame
Full post and beam frame provides the most options for the sense of open spaciousness. Wider doorways, large expanses with a lot of windows, vaulted or lofted ceilings and an open flow floor plan is most often achieved using a full post and beam frame.
A full post and beam frame nullifies the need for interior walls as the frame is the visible skeleton of the house, bearing the weight of the roof.
Hybrid Post and Beam Frame
Most of our clients choose to use a hybrid post and beam frame options. You choose where you’d like the timber frame and where you don’t feel it’s necessary.
The hybrid frame allows design flexibility and visual impact in priority spaces without the need for it in secondary spaces.
Minimal or No Timber Frame
At Yankee Barn Homes, each client stipulates how much or how little timber frame they want in their new home. Yankee barn also designs homes with no post and beam. These homes are constructed with our True Panel System.
