MoonRise Cottage
Inspired by our Eastman House and Overlook designs, MoonRise Cottage puts its own spin on a versatile floor plan. MoonRise borrows directly from the Eastman House plan while employing slightly more usable square footage. MoonRise Cottage is currently being built and is available for Yankee Barn Homes’ clients to schedule a viewing.

Single Floor Living with Options
MoonRise offers single level living in a multi-level design. Because the second level is a single bedroom with adjoining bath, it can easily be closed if/when not in use. The same is true for the lower level. Should the homeowners decide to use its space for a third and forth bedroom option, it’s easily opened up for multiple level living. If not in use, it may be closed off to save on utilities costs.
Everything a couple would need is located on the primary (first) level including a mudroom with stackable washer/dryer, a half bath and attached garage. For anyone living in the weather elements of our northern states, an attached garage is worth it’s weight in gold.
The cottage offers an open floor plan with living, dining, and kitchen areas define by function and furniture rather than walls. The beautiful Douglas fir post and beam frame can be seen from every angle of every room.
Lower Level Advantages
The beauty of the MoonRise design includes a lower level with options for additional living and storage space. Complete with a walk-out at the back, the lower level allows for a family room, optional third and fourth bedrooms, a second laundry room, two additional bathrooms, and a mechanical room.
When used, the lower level turns a two bedroom home into a four bedroom house without altering the footprint of the home. This makes the home a perfect design for either an empty nest couple who often have family and friends for extended visits, or a larger family with children who need their own space.
