Post and beam homes are unique within the current architectural landscape of the United States. However, the small New England town of Grantham, New Hampshire is a notable exception. To date, Grantham boasts 297 post and beam homes built by Yankee Barn Homes, but more are currently under way!
Post and Beam Homes Reign in Grantham
The history of Yankee Barn is deeply intertwined with the town of Grantham. The original owners of Yankee Barn Homes were also the developers of the private community, Eastman; located primarily within the town of Grantham. Eastman grew right along side Yankee Barn as numerous post and beam homes were built in our factory and erected in Eastman. As time went on, yet another land development in Grantham came to fruition: this one a less formal, non-private community named Olde Farms. One of the features Olde Farms and Eastman have in common is a wealth of beautiful post and beam homes; Yankee Barn Homes post and beam homes.
Homes Chronicle YBH Design History
Beginning with Yankee Barn’s very first Mark I design, Eastman and Olde Farms (as well as Grantham proper) offer 3-D testimonials to the YBH design growth and capability. What began as a small company providing only a few simplistic barn home design options, has grown into a custom home building dynamo. The accompanying photographs attest to the evolution of our structures. YBH has advanced our design to include homes in any number of architectural styles.
The Future Is Bright
As this piece goes to print, our newest model home, Eastman House, is now open for viewing. You may have guessed it is in the community of Eastman; you’d be correct. The house is a smaller square foot post and beam marvel. Check it out HERE.
But we’re not stopping with Eastman House. Currently on the drafting board are two new builds going into Eastman. Both are expected to go up in the near future. We can’t wait!
