Southold barn home is currently featured in Timber Home Living magazine. Yankee Barn Homes is thrilled, but we’re not surprised. The Southold barn home is the best of barn house living combined with the latest in build technology. The look and feel of the open concept floor plan is just the beginning. The post and beam frame, lofted spaces, sliding barn doors and large massing of windows combine to create a building that is as beautiful as it is functional.
Southold Barn Home in Timber Home Living
Situated on Long Island Sound, the Southold presides over its site with serene beauty and a total lack of pretense. There is nothing flashy about this house. It doesn’t project glitz or scream ostentatiousness. It does exude rock solid stability and a promise of safe harbor from any storm, figurative or literal.
Upon entering through the front door, the space opens into a large great room area complete with a two-story, double-sided fireplace and a catwalk that connects the upper level bedrooms. Off to the left is the master bedroom suite and to the right is the dining room and kitchen/breakfast area, pantry, laundry room and a half-bath creating the perfect age-in-place floor plan. Primary living is completely contained on the first level of the home. The barn home’s second level consists of three large bedrooms, each with their own full bathroom, and a large storage area.
