Small barn house Boulder Meadows has been completed and it’s amazing! Coming in under 2000 square feet, this home is of modest size on paper while affording an open floor plan associated with post and beam architecture. As with all Yankee Barn custom designs, this house is proof positive a smaller footprint does not mean a small space or appearance. In fact, quite the opposite is true. Better yet, Yankee Barn Homes’ Trade marked True Wall and True Roof Panels keep the open lofted spaces toasty warm in winter and cool in summer. Read more about our top quality panels HERE.
At first glimpse, you know Boulder Meadows is a special place. Built into the side of a sloping hill, the house siting takes advantage of extensive views. This is rural New England at it’s best and this small barn house suites the site perfectly. The owners used antique post and beams on the porch and barn board siding on parts of the exterior to put an exclamation point on the barn’s appearance. The large cupola on top is open to the space below with operable windows which afford both light and ventilation. The two-car garage is tucked neatly beneath the house, keeping the simple rectangle foot print which contributes to an energy-efficient design.
The interior of the home is a complete kick; the owners’ unique style is evident throughout the house. Boulder Meadows has a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere that only intensifies as you move through the rooms. From the creative use of old New Hampshire license plates to the vintage tractor-seat stools to the barn board sliding barn door, this small barn house is big on treats for the eye!
Yankee Barn Homes has followed this small barn house from the beginning – see details and floor plans here. At 1902 square feet (not including garage, basement or porch) the home has gone from conceptualization to reality in a remarkably short period of time. The ability of Yankee Barn Homes to build panelized weather tight components in a factory controlled environment allows for less time on the build site and far less construction waste.
