Yankee Barn Homes is pleased to present the completion of our newest barn house, Oyster Shores. A contemporary style barn house with iconic barn exteriors, Oyster Shores has a fresh interior that utilizes clean lines. Designed by Jeffrey Rosen, creative director for Yankee Barn Homes, the barn is located in East Hampton, NY. The amount of exposed timber on the interior is consciously minimal, white oak floors have no color applied, and walls, doors, and ceiling are purposely done in a palette of pale grays. Here are some of the first photos of how turned out.
The kitchen is modern at its best with Crown Point Cabinetry and a stunning, book-matched marble accent wall. The air-brushed finish of the black granite counter tops leaves them with the texture of fine leather. The large amount of glass blurs the line between inside and out as there are minimal mutton’s used in all windows. The stainless steel appliances and over-scale black Lucite light fixtures add contrast to the otherwise neutral kitchen.
A consciously designed step-down living room manipulates an otherwise open floor plan in order to define the room without the use of walls. The fireplace is an additional architectural feature to the room. It is free-standing and clad in limestone.
Wow, this is unexpected. Sleek and clean, with a floating soak tub; compartmentalized toilet area, double sinks and large walk-in shower. Floors are Calcutta gold marble with an accent wall of gray limestone.
Really quite stunning! A terrific combination (or melding) of styles that pays homage to history yet expresses modern without the exclamation point. Modern made homey.
