Post and beam kitchens with floor plans that work: Yankee Barn Homes has them – a lot of them! Many of us have already heard we should consider the work triangle when designing a kitchen floor plan for most efficient and usable space. The stove, sink and refrigerator are the three most often used appliances/areas of the kitchen, therefore they should always create a comfortable work triangle. However, a fact not as often talked about is this: open floor plan post & beam kitchens give you more space (literally and figuratively) from which to design your perfect work area.
This by no means locks you in to a specific size or layout for your kitchen. In the following examples of Yankee Barn Homes floor plans and photos of post and beam kitchens, you’ll discover a kitchen may be any size, shape, and style desired.[toggle title_open=”Close Me” title_closed=”Post and Beam Kitchens: The Floor Plans” hide=”yes” border=”yes” style=”default” excerpt_length=”0″ read_more_text=”Read More” read_less_text=”Read Less” include_excerpt_html=”no”]
Post and Beam Kitchens: The Floor Plans
The next floor plans show a post and beam kitchen in a fairly small space, however between the galley style and the open wall style, the room does not appear small and flows beautifully into other areas.
The next floor plan shows yet another concept for how to make the post and beam kitchen work in a home that uses two main structures in a perpendicular configuration. Finally, yet another way to layout the kitchen floor plan in a post and beam home. I hope by now you’re getting the idea that, if you can conceive it (and sometimes, when you can’t), Yankee Barn Homes can build it![/toggle] [toggle title_open=”Close Me” title_closed=”Post and Beam Kitchens: Photos of Completed Kitchens” hide=”yes” border=”yes” style=”default” excerpt_length=”0″ read_more_text=”Read More” read_less_text=”Read Less” include_excerpt_html=”no”]

Now, for the visually fun part: seeing a few of the many, many post and beam kitchens Yankee Barn Homes has designed and built for happy clients over the years. The first photo is of a farmhouse style kitchen built in the Green Mountains of Vermont.
The next kitchen is a galley style kitchen located in a vacation home built by Yankee Barn Homes on the northern coast of Maine.
The final photo is of a lakeside post and beam kitchen with a very open and airy floor plan, including opening on to a beautiful glassed in post and beam solarium with doubles as the family’s breakfast room. Beautiful!
