The timber frame structures of Yankee Barn Homes are unique not only in their clean lines and authentic historical reference but, more importantly for this blogger/post and beam home owner, due to the stunning vignettes created by their frames. My carriage house is small, yet I’ve lost count of the number of interesting views which may be seen in this amazing home. Other Yankee Barn Home owners have told me the exact same thing, so we are now putting our “money where our mouth is” to show you we’re not kidding. Enjoy!
1. The Unique “Y” Corner
This Victorian style carriage house has steeply pitched full dormers which create a number of visually interesting timber frame intersections and angles.
2. The Nook Below a Loft
This music room is a naturally occurring space located below an upper loft that runs down one side of the great room.
3. The Media Room
This is one of many cozy spaces a Yankee Barn Homes timber frame offers. Snuggle in on a cold winter’s day and r-e-l-a-x!
4. The Staircase as Art
Because the living space is located on the upper level of this carriage house but the entrance is on the lower level, the stairway is a visitor’s first interior view. First impressions are key; a post and beam frame from Yankee Barn Homes makes it a snap!
5. The Deeply Slanted Beam
This area could have presented a challenge due to the deeply slanted beam and the very small wall space, but not in a Yankee Barn – the timber frame becomes the anchor for a spectacular mirror and a collection of mercury glass.
6. The Bedroom “Wake-Up” View
Imagine waking to see this gorgeous post & beam framing your view every morning.
7. The Timber Frame Itself
8. The Great Room Loft
The space above a great room is another wonderful nook with a character totally separate from the larger space below.
9. The Top of The Stairs View
Timber frame barns are simply beautiful and beautifully simple…. enough said!
10. The “Pass-Through” Preview
This library offers a beautiful timber frame for up-close viewing, as well as a hint of what’s beyond the fireplace wall.
