Although this house is not yet finished, I wanted to share a few scouting photos with you as this post and beam barn home has some very nice architectural features.
I love the front porch of this home as you rarely see a hipped roof on a porch these days. It is a perfect way to disguise the fact the front door is not centered. The interior wall of the porch is faced in a contrasting bead board while the door is balanced by a window to the right.
Another interesting exterior feature is the fact the walkout basement entrance is on the gable end of the home located directly beneath the great room windows. No bulkhead here, this is one snazzy way to get in or out of the basement.
There are some lovely architectural features inside, as well. Beginning with the entryway…
…and continuing on up the stairway to the second floor…
…and on up to the chandelier hanging from the beautiful post and beam frame. Spectacular!
Even more eye-catching post and beam architecture can be found in the bedrooms. The dormer windows and the pretty arts and crafts style mullions add visual impact.
I can not wait until this house is totally finished. I think it’s going to be a real stunner.
I’ll be revisiting this house sometime in the summer so please stay tuned as there are sure to be more fantastic pictures.
