Prefabricated homes are manufactured in a factory where better quality control exists, while stick-built homes are created on the construction site. With panelized prefabrication, insulation placement is more precise and factory produced panels have a tighter seal against drafts. There is also far less construction waste. A job site build has a high percentage of waste and that cost is passed on to the consumer.
