Summer Homes
Summer homes are a mainstay at Yankee Barn Homes. Yes, year-round homes make up the majority of our designs, but we would be remiss to exclude the homes built as second homes. Some are built specifically as second homes and some are built as second homes for the present but retirement homes in the future.
Like our year round homes, our summer homes come in all shapes and sizes. Architectural styles run the gamut from contemporary to traditional, and everything between.
Vacation Homes
There is a free-ness in designing and building a summer home that is not always found in a year round build. Styles are more relaxed and the emphasis is on ease of pace and style. Easy access to both indoor and outdoor spaces and plenty of room for guests are the typical requirements.
Many of our vacation homes are built in areas with major restrictions, codes, and/or environmental regulations. This is where Yankee Barn excels. Our design team is familiar with most of the U.S. build zones or can guild our clients to quickly access the information needed to build in a specific area. Coastal restrictions are some of the most stringent. It is always wise to know your build sites codes, regulations, etc., before you begin your design.
…And More
The summer homes that will eventually become primary residences are some of the most fun to design and build. They bridge the gap between rustic and formal with a relaxed yet refined elegance. Again, this is where Yankee Barn Homes shines.
Transition homes are yet another area where the YBH Design Team shines. We have an amazing staff whose attention to detail is meticulous. The team knows how to create a design that suits you today and will also be a perfect fit when you retire. As your vacation home becomes your forever home, the transition will be seamless.
