Menemsha cottage moves closer to completion with each passing day. Construction photos have arrived showing activity on the interior of the home. Located in East Hampton, NY, this house will be a second home, though it is designed to be a year round plan, too.
Menemsha Cottage
Menemsha cottage is a partial post and beam house designed by YBH Creative Director, Jeffrey Rosen. Jeffrey purposely designed the home to appear smaller than it’s 3,110 square feet. Meant to invoke memories of older cottages found on Martha’s Vineyard, the front exterior of the home is charming. The back facade is a stunning array of bump-outs and glass. Walls of windows in the two-story bump-out allow natural light to flow throughout the interior. Shingle siding in natural tones with a deep gray trim completes the cottage appearance.
The floor plan is popular with today’s active homeowners. Everything one needs can be found on the first floor level, while children/guest bedrooms and baths occupy the second floor.
