When clients come to us, they have typically seen our website and social media pages. They have admired our homes and have solid ideas of how they want their new house to look and live. Every once in a while, we work with clients that not only have all the basic information figured out, they know interior décor and fixture styles, as well.
The Overlook
The Overlook homeowners were designing their home as Yankee Barn Homes built our model, Eastman House. They had the advantage of touring Eastman House as it was built. Seeing it progress from a shell kit to a finished home helped them realize the house plan suited them. However, they had their own interpretation for the interior layout.
While the first floor layout is the same as Eastman House, the choice of window design in the Overlook brings a different flavor to the home. The major difference between the two builds is with the second level. Eastman House has left a majority of lofted ceiling space open, while The Overlook has utilized much of the lofted space via a catwalk and second bedroom. This gains The Overlook 1 more bedroom and 2 more storage closets while maintaining lofted ceiling spaces in the entry and living room.
Yankee Barn Homes is a premium home build company specializing in custom design. Clients have the option of using an existing floor plan and making it their own, or creating a design from the ground up. Either way, Yankee Barn Homes Design team will work with you to make your dream home a reality. In a few weeks, Post and Beam Living will interview The Overlook homeowners. Among the topics will be why they chose Yankee Barn Homes and what their process was in determining their design.
