This post and beam farmhouse is idyllic for many reasons, not the least of which is the first glimpse you get as you round the corner of the drive. A sense of leaving the fast paced world behind is very real. It needs to be for this 21st Century couple both working with young children; leading very busy lives. When it’s time to leave the world behind, they turn the corner at the end of the drive and come home to this Yankee Barn farmhouse. Life is Good!

From the front, this home is very traditional in style. It has an off-center front door and a large wrap-around front porch, perfect for lazing away an idle afternoon. The warm yellow evokes a soothing sense of tranquility. Ah….!
- The front porch rocking chair calls out to anyone who passes by to come sit for a while.
- This family definitely enjoys their outdoor time. A screened-in porch for those pesky New England bugs and a pergola topped patio for warm sunny days, are wonderful enhancements to the farmhouse.

- At the front of the home are traditional rooms; an entry, a sitting room and a formal dining room. However, the back of the home opens up the floor plan to an informal dining area and kitchen.
- The kitchen has every modern convenience while nodding to past farmhouse kitchens with “punched metal” cabinet fronts and a traditional sink base.
- With busy lives and three boys, these parents wisely designed a room just for them to sit and chat, read, or just relax.
- The master bedroom and bath occupy the second level of the attached barn.
