The DETS
Greylock is a small home design with 1,627 square feet. Two bedrooms and two baths are included in this house design. The floor plan is a nice fit for those looking to downsize in style. Greylock utilizes an open concept layout of kitchen, dining, and living room space. Over this open area is a beautiful post and beam timber frame. The vaulted space adds not only visual appeal but a sense the area is larger than it actually is. There are no interior walls within these three rooms, so the furniture and fixtures provide delineation. The porch off the dining area adds seasonal living space, extending space in the smaller floor plan for three seasons of the year.
Gorgeous Spaces
Having a smaller home does not mean you have to sacrifice a sense of spaciousness. A vaulted ceiling goes a long way in affording a feeling of space, even when the square footage may say otherwise. This is the case with the Greylock floor plan. The owners have also used light color tones and scaled their furniture to suite the space. Hence a smaller home does not live small – at all. Take a look at the photos. Would you think this home is only 1,627 square feet?
Greylock Is Great Small House Design
Small house design is a good example of more is not necessarily better. Planning a small home means careful thought is necessary, particularly regarding the use of space. Creativity in design is a must. The YBH Design Team has some of the best design minds in the business and can create spaces where you not only get what you need, but what you love. With over 52 years in the business, Yankee Barn has created thousands of home designs. There is pretty much nothing we haven’t seen that can’t be resolved with a bit of ingenuity.
As Stephen Gardiner once said “Good buildings come from good people, and all problems are solved by good design.” Yankee Barn Homes has an overabundance of both!
