Yankee Barn Builds In Vermont
With Vermont named The Green Mountain State, you’d think that mountain homes would be the singular popular design style. However, Yankee Barn builds in Vermont range from farmhouse to contemporary, and everything in-between.

Contemporary Mountain Style Homes
Two of our most popular home designs reside in Vermont; Mad River Modern and Hill House. While both are contemporary takes on the Mid-Century modern style, each has features that make them thoroughly energy efficient and unique.
Mad River Modern: Built for two mountain-loving skiers, this home boasts a layout that brings the outdoors in at every turn.
Hill House: This home is an energy-efficient marvel where contemporary design abounds.
Farm Houses
While certainly not an unusual sight in Vermont, these Yankee Barn farmhouse designs are notable. Not only is there a full post and beam frame in both, they are also visually in-tune with American farmhouse style.
Butler-Middlebury: Designed and built a bit earlier than the other homes featured, this farmhouse is worth seeing on our website. It is the quintessential Vermont farmhouse.
Morgan: The Morgan Farmhouse was built by a family needing space for their adult children and their families. This house is ideal for large family gatherings.
Cottages and Carriage Houses
First up is a lakeside cottage with the perfect front porch. Two barn-style carriage houses follow. One carriage house provides upstairs living quarters and lower level garage space. The other is a building that uses the first level for equipment storage while the second level is meant for family and friends to enjoy serious fun.
Sunapee Cottage: This cottage is a great design for anyone interested in either a primary of second home on the waterfront.
Hartford Carriage House: Originally built as a second home for an outdoor loving family, the owners have since moved here full-time.
Eaton Carriage House: Work and play are the name of the game at this carriage house. The lower level has plenty of vehicle and equipment storage space. The upstairs has a full bar that separates a large-screen viewing area from a fun hang out space for the whole gang.
