Community is a Priority at Yankee Barn Homes
Yankee Barn Homes is pleased to announce the donation of an outdoor pavilion to our hometown school system, Grantham Village School.
Yankee Barn Homes owners, Paul Marinelli and Jeffrey Rosen, graciously offered to donate the structure to the playground rebuild project.
Kerri Post, Design Manager at YBH, recently attended a school meeting where she received hand-made Thank you cards and a wonderful plaque to commemorate the donation. Administrators, teachers, and students turned out to thank Yankee Barn Homes for our community spirit and support. Kerri notes “It’s nice to be part of something that gives back to the community, especially when kids are involved! It looks like every student made a card, they’re fantastic! Thank you, Paul & Jeff, for including YBH in something so rewarding and fun.”
Yankee Barn Homes has a long history of supporting our community and we are excited for the opportunity to continue such a gratifying tradition.
The 33′ x 16′ pavilion is currently underway in our shop. We are hoping to arrange a tour for the children and staff to come watch their new pavilion as it’s being built.
Yankee Barn Homes is honored to play a role in the creation of a new Grantham Village School playground complex.
Press Release from Grantham Village School
Superintendent Sydney Leggett is pleased to announce that Grantham business Yankee Barn Homes has agreed to donate 75% of the costs of a pavilion to be built as part of the grounds and playground renovation just as a fundraising drive seeks to build support for the renovation brick by brick.
In addition, an anonymous donor contributed $14,000 in matching funds to the Grantham Village School Renovation and Playground Committee, leaving the committee just $7,000 short of it’s $50,000 fundraising goal.
The pavilion will be used for outside eating, learning, and meetings. Grantham Village School students and staff started spending more time outdoors because of the pandemic, and now intend to continue the practice.
The outdoor pavilion represents the Grantham community’s collaboration around what’s right for kids, and the District will partner with SE Group to incorporate the structure into the overall design of the renovation.
“I’d like to thank Yankee Barn Homes and our anonymous donor for their very generous contributions to help our efforts to renovate our grounds and playground,” said Board Chair Brittany Pye. “It warms my heart to see the community coming together to support our students this holiday season. It’s clear that Yankee Barn Homes and all our donors — with contributions of every size — believe in supporting the children and the future of Grantham.”
“My business partner, Jeffrey Rosen, and I have a strong commitment to the community of Grantham and see this as an opportunity to act on that commitment,” said Yankee Barn Homes Co-owner Paul Marinelli.
The generous donations come just as the Grantham Village School Renovation and Playground Committee is offering community members a chance to contribute to the project brick by brick.
Community members may purchase bricks with engraved personalized messages that will be installed when the playground renovation is complete.
Fundraisers are hoping to sell 500 bricks to raise funds toward an overall goal of raising $50,000 for the project. The Board plans to have a warrant article regarding the renovation on the March 1, 2022 ballot.
Bricks are $50 each. Families that want to buy more than one brick may request that their bricks be positioned together.
“We invite community members to help us build an even brighter future for children at the Grantham Village School, while also leaving a lasting message at a site where our community’s children will play and grow together,” said Superintendent Leggett. “There’s no better time than the holidays to pitch in to a community effort, and our personalized bricks will make great holiday gifts that continue giving for years.”
