Barn homes are a Yankee Barn Homes specialty. The unique aspect for each design is brought by the individual preferences of the clients we serve. Our custom design service is just that, custom. The YBH Design Team works closely with every client to create a home suited to their specifications. Therefore, our barn homes range from classic New England barn design to contemporary, and everything in-between.
Farmhouses and Mountain Homes
Because of our name, designing and building barn homes is a given. However, we also create homes in many other architectural styles. Two of the most popular styles with staying power are the American Farmhouse and the mountain or lodge home. The latter takes on different characteristics depending on which part of the country the home will reside. As we build across the U.S. and into Canada, Yankee Barn Homes has extensive knowledge in differing styles and aesthetics while being well-versed in permitting/build requirements for specific areas.
Our farmhouse designs range from traditional, to barn, to eclectic. The client is in the driver seat when it comes to the look of the home, inside and out. The one consistent feature is the farmer’s porch. It is always present.
The mountain home/lodge style is a perfect fit for full or partial post and beam options, however, you can also design in a fully panelized style thanks to our amazing True Panel System. Mountain style is extremely popular among those seeking a more rustic yet refined style. Plenty of warm wood tones and soothing colors find their way into many of these homes.
Cottages and Contemporary Homes
Since the Yankee Barn True Panel System was created and trademarked (mid 1990’s), the company has been able to design and build more homes using partial or minimal timber incorporated into the design. This has allow for a number of different cottage style homes to be built while allowing YBH to venture into fully panelized home construction. Modern architecture is something we now accomplish with style and energy efficiency.
