Cottage at the Barn is a small work of art. Yankee Barn Homes’ new design is perfect as a second home or get-away cottage. The plan features a mountain cottage exterior with all of today’s conveniences on the interior. And Oh, that porch!
Make Your Escape
Cottage at the Barn is the third design by owners, Mark and Karen House. If you’ve been followers of this blog, you may remember Mark and Karen’s first YBH plan, Split Rock Bunk House. They also have another plan currently in design, as yet unnamed. Stay tuned as it will be featured here once plans are finished.
Cottage at the Barn is 1,176 square feet and takes Split Rock up a notch with a bump-out back and dedicated laundry room. Ideal for those weekends when you don’t want to lug dirty laundry home. Complete with two bedrooms and two bathrooms, the cottage has an open living, dining, kitchen space with a timber vaulted ceiling. The vault gives the sense of spaciousness in an area that might otherwise feel small and confined.
If you’ve been looking for that perfect small cottage, take a long look at Cottage at the Barn. We think you’re going to love it. Stay in touch as we will cover this build. The cottage is currently going up in the great state of Virginia.
If you haven’t read it yet, our Interview with Mark and Karen House is worth the read. They talk about their experience with Yankee Barn Homes while building at a distance. You’re guaranteed to find out one or two things you didn’t know about building with us.
