This has been a year for the record books at Yankee Barn Homes. Not only did we celebrate our 50th anniversary in the post and beam build business, we partnered with not one but two magazines to build, furnish and shoot a new model house. And that’s not all!
Yankee Barn Homes Turns 50
Above all else, 50 years in the business has taught us to appreciate the people who become our clients. I imagine every business would say the same and we understand why. Yankee Barn Homes is a small company. We spend quite a bit of time getting to know our clients. Depending on how quickly they want to move through the process, we often spending months (and sometimes, years) with people who become like family to us. And us, to them. It gets even better when we have the opportunity to touch base with them again years later.
This past July we held a Day of Celebration at our newest model home, The Springfield Barn Home. What a perfect opportunity to be reminded of all the people who have passed through the life of Yankee Barn Homes. Owners afforded us the luxury of discovering how they’ve lived in their Yankee Barns and some opened their homes for us to tour. It was one of those days that made us say “Why don’t we do this more often? Let’s not wait another 50 years!”
The Springfield Barn Home
Finally, I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention our year-long joint project, The Springfield Barn Home. In conjunction with Cottages and Bungalows and American Farmhouse Style magazines, Yankee Barn Homes crafted a home that combines elements of the cottage, barn, and farmhouse styles. You can read about our journey here and/or check out our News + Publications page for the twelve articles on the project.
It’s been an amazing ride this year and next year promises more exciting projects. If you’re a reader of this blog, you already know several of the homes we have going up in such far-flung places as the state of Washington. We can’t wait to see what 2020 brings!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
