The Yankee Barn Homes’ Project Home 2019 continues to progress quickly. A great deal has happened since our last post, Project Home 2019 Exterior Finishes. Along with ongoing construction, we have produced our first photo shoot. Be sure to watch for an update using the photography in the next issue of Cottages and Bungalows.
Springfield Barn Home: Lighting Fixtures
The collaboration with Cottages and Bungalows and American Style Farmhouse magazines brought us to the lighting fixture company, Golden Lighting.
“Golden Lighting is a family business that was founded in 1982. Golden Lighting began as an importer of manufactured products. During the 1990s, significant distribution opportunities in the decorative residential lighting market were uncovered. The company has grown and today, we have a full in-house design department. We sell decorative lighting throughout the United States and Canada.
The task of blending barn, cottage, and farmhouse styles might be daunting to some. This was not the case for Yankee Barn Homes’ Creative Director, Jeffrey Rosen.
Jeffrey was pleased to learn Golden Lighting not only offers great shapes and current styles, they also offer attractive patinas. Responsive customer service was another impressive aspect Jeffrey noted. Whenever Yankee Barn had a question, Golden Lighting was courteous and timely in their response.
Jeffrey chose the Springfield Barn Home lighting with the following guidelines in mind:
*Rustic Handmade /Aged Finishes to balance out the timber frame. Jeff finds it a great combination.
*Industrial /Farmhouse Vintage Looks that say country, farmhouse, and cottage.
*Over-Scale Sizes to catch the eye and draw the gaze upward.
*Assigning Light Fixtures a Different Use For example, the lights employed over the kitchen sink were designated by Golden as accent lights. The same goes for the light fixtures used for the upstairs window seats. They are featured on Golden’s site as bath wall sconces.
Next month POST & BEAM LIVING will be covering another aspect of the Springfield Barn Home. We will also be posting new pictures to our website and on our social media accounts. Please follow along by visiting our website and our Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Pinterest accounts.
