Small barn home The Old French Carriage House is going to be beautiful. We can pretty much guarantee this statement; here’s why. It’s patterned after one of our most popular carriage house designs, The Bennington. Look at the renderings and you’ll see the resemblance. The Old French Carriage House is the 2.0 version of The Bennington; currently in-process for a site on Martha’s Vineyard.
Small Barn Home Appeal
Post and Beam Living recently posted the article Upscale Living in Smaller Homes. The Old French Carriage House will be a perfect example of how YBH creates the small barn home, utilizing smart design. There is no wasted space in this 1,235-square foot house but there is plenty of gorgeous post and beam architecture and natural light. The barn home has several small bump-outs which minimally increase square footage while creating a unique configuration of the original design. The Bennington’s attached shed becomes incorporated into the interior space as an office in The Old French Carriage House design. The laundry/utility room is a bump-out to gain more garage space and a working door to the back of the house. On the upper level the layout is like The Bennington, though the kitchen layout has been modified slightly.
