Yankee Barn Homes comes back to New Hampshire with The Bancroft Barn Home. Nearing completion, the barn house is located in an open area surrounded by planting fields and apple orchards. The home was designed with respect for the history of the land in mind, thus clean lines with minimal bump-outs are utilized. As you can see in the photographs, this does not mean boring. While the architecture is completely barn homes in style, the modern use of windows and interior fixtures give this house a contemporary spirit. The open floor plan and free-flowing communal spaces are used to great effect considering this is not an overly large house at 2,845 square feet. Floor to ceiling windows in key focal points extend the sense of space and bring both light and the outdoors into the home.
The barn style house boasts stunning architectural features, both inside and out. The unique use of windows in both the entry and the great room are matched only by the juxtaposition of warm wood tones and metal; i.e., the post and beam frame and the rail system on stairs and loft. Wood and gleaming metal set the tone for this house. However, if you love the floor plan of this house, but aren’t a contemporary style enthusiast, no problem. Yankee Barn Homes often (quite often, in fact) uses former designs as springboards for new houses. We are a custom design home company, therefore whatever you envision is what we design.
