Barn house plans continue to be all the rage. While we’re partial to the style, we’re definitely not overstating this fact. All one needs do is look at home decor magazines and it’s guaranteed there will be a barn style home featured within the pages. The barn house is a classic American home allowing design in a number of style iterations including Contemporary, Traditional, New England, Heartland Farmhouse, Mountain and Horse Country. It’s the latter style that ties in with our most recent design, The Hunt Valley.
Based on an older Yankee Barn design The Carolina Horse Barn, The Hunt Valley is an updated version intended for single floor living with upper level guest and grandchildren quarters. The 3186 sq ft floor plan is ideal for friends and family to visit while maintaining separate ‘quiet time’ space for the homeowners.
The exterior of The Hunt Valley barn house is traditional with a contemporary twist. From the front, traditional style rules with a stone entry, small barn style windows, barn cupolas and carriage house garage doors. The back elevation is a different matter. Here we find five sets of French doors and triangular windows incorporated into the design. The combined exterior styles work seamlessly in part due to the monotone color scheme, but mostly because of our great design team!
