Our newest contemporary barn home picks up the evolution of our successful model, Laurel Hollow. Yankee Barn Homes’ Creative Director Jeffrey Rosen designed both, with an updated open concept floor plan for the The Tisbury Barn. Coming in at 2983 square feet, the key element in this design is the “T” shape of the home. The top of the “T” consists of a timber structured 1 ½ story mudroom, kitchen, dining and great room. The base of the “T” contains the entry, family room, staircase and master suite.
The language of the contemporary barn home is quintessential Yankee Barn. There is expansive use of Anderson E Series glass for views and passive solar gain with lofted post and beam architecture. The style is one of open, relaxed spaces with a contemporary edge. A neutral color palette will set the stage for modern furniture and fixtures. The staircase will be a main focal point upon entrance. The upper level will house three bedrooms and two full baths. This design is perfect for a family or an aging-in-place couple who might use the upper level only when friends and family visit.
As with the other homes in the YBH Hamptons Collection, The Tisbury Barn is currently under construction in the village of East Hampton, NY. We will post updates and progress photos of this contemporary barn home as the build moves forward. Stay tuned… this one’s going to be another beauty!
