Hi, my name is Jeffrey Rosen. As creative director at YBH, I have worked closely with Holly for the past few years. We brain storm bi weekly, discussing current projects/builds, design ideas, and trends. It’s an engaging process; we bring our notes and clippings, toss them on the table and talk YBH. I thought it would be fun to ask her a few questions about her experience at Yankee Barn.
Jeffrey: You have been a part of the Yankee Barn family for quite a few years, what keeps you going?
BeamBabe: As a former music teacher, I have always been interested in the Arts. Architecture is another art form I love. I’m also a big fan of interior design, so writing about architecture and interior design is the ideal job. The social media aspect of my job is a kick. It’s constantly evolving and I have to keep up – daunting at times, but always interesting.
Jeffrey: You write the blog as Beambabe, what are some of your favorite blog stories?
BeamBabe: My favorite stories involve talking with the owners. Their stories are fascinating. I’m drawn to why they chose YBH and what it means for them to have realized their dream home through Yankee Barn Homes.
Jeffrey: How did you get the name Beambabe?
BeamBabe: Long story short: my daughter came up with the name and it stuck. I railed against it at first, but now I secretly think it’s fun (and at my age, quite funny).
Jeffrey: From a recent blog story, we know you and your husband live in a YBH home. How has that influenced your life?
BeamBabe: If you’ve read some of my articles on the blog where I talk about our Bennington Carriage House, you know I’m crazy about our home. Never having lived in a new home prior to this build, I continuously appreciate the many wonderful qualities a Yankee Barn home affords. From the gorgeous architecture to the amazing energy efficiency of the building, my husband and I are completely in love with our home.
Jeffrey: What do you see next for Yankee Barn Homes?
BeamBabe: I am extremely excited for the future at YBH. I enjoy being a part of the process and am continually amazed at the creativity of the staff. It may sound cliché, but this truly is a wonderful place to work. The staff is amazing in their willingness… no, desire to reach out and work with you! This company is going places – you heard it here first!
Jeffrey: Anything you want to leave us with?
BeamBabe: Yes, in closing I’d like to let our readers know how much I believe in Yankee Barn Homes. I know the “inside skinny” on this company and I live in one of their homes. YBH is the real deal. Good old Yankee quality and Yankee ingenuity are alive and well, thriving actually, here in Grantham, NH.
