If you’re looking for barn house plans, you’ve come to the right place. Our latest design is aptly named Boulder Meadows, as it is sited on a New England hillside overlooking a pasture littered with field stone. The new Yankee Barn homeowners have a view most of us would envy! The barn house is pretty enviable, too. Coming in at under 2000 sq ft (1902, to be exact) the post and beam open-concept home packs a lot of punch into its rectangle foot print.
Boulder Meadows is yet another post and beam design in our new barn house plans series (see The North Fork, The Merrimack, and The Grantham Lakehouse). It is the smallest thus far in the group, but don’t let it’s smaller size fool you; this house has a large feel to it due to the lofted open spaces in the common living areas (great room, dining room and kitchen). Built into the side of a hill, the basement houses a two car garage and utility room space. The 3 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath floor plan (with master bed and bath on the first floor) allows plenty of private space for family and friends.
Currently under construction in the rolling hills of New Hampshire, Boulder Meadows is a smaller Yankee Barn post and beam home which can easily accommodate a family as a primary or second home. The barn house plans are also readily adaptable to any type of build site; sloping terrain is not a necessity (but it is lovely!). Please check back soon as this house is well on its way to being finished and we fully intend to do another article on it once completed.
Great photos. We decided to to make the deck 2 feet deeper (now 12 x 28 ft). This will allow us to park snowmobiles, or ATVs underneath it for short periods!
Thanks for the update, Dana. The place is looking GREAT!!!! Can’t wait to see the deck up.
Any interior pics available?!?!
Hi Brittney, We are scheduled to get interior pictures of Boulder Meadows this year in late summer/early fall. Please stay tuned… :) BeamBabe
I have a couple of nice interior shots taken on “move in” day. Just not sure how to get them to you all.
Hi Dana, We’d LOVE to see them. Please send them to me at [email protected] Thank you!!!!
I absolutely love the colors here. Do you happen to have info on what colors were used?1
Hi Amy, The stain color for the exterior of Boulder Meadows is Cabot Solid in Barn Red. :-)
