Our barn style home, The Grantham Lakehouse, has been completed. All it needs now is furniture, which will happen shortly. Jeffrey Rosen, Creative Director at YBH, is busy scouring the globe for just the right pieces to compliment this post and beam house. As Jeffrey’s past builds attest, this house is stunning without furniture and will really come alive once the interior decor is completed. But this barn style home is too beautiful to wait until there’s furniture in it to see what has transpired since out last article this past May.
From conceptualization, this home was meant to be special. Along with signifying a return to Yankee Barn’s roots, the barn style home is a testament to the beauty of post and beam architecture combined with cutting edge techniques employed in today’s sustainable construction movement. Prefab is no longer a dirty word; quite the contrary. Today’s consumer is not only knowledgeable about the build process, they are also interested in building green including a high energy efficient rate, while seeking eye-catching architectural features. Jeffrey summed it up nicely, “coming in at 2408 sq ft, this house allows for total economy in build time, cost, impact, and most importantly, providing architectural excitement.” We couldn’t agree more. Check out the photo gallery for proof-positive regarding Jeffrey’s enthusiasm toward the Grantham Lakehouse. We’re confident you’ll agree!

As each of our builds is custom, the total cost of a YBH home can vary based on types of windows used, wood, etc, even when using the same floor plan – in this case, The Grantham. That being said, we do have a standard “cost per sq ft” price we will give out. if you prefer, feel free to email us at [email protected] or call us at 800. 258.9786. I will forward your request on to our staff and you should hear from someone soon. Please let me know if I may be of further assistance.
