Barn doors come in all shapes and sizes. Interior, exterior, sliding, hinged, and stationary are just a few of the different styles we’ve used at Yankee Barn. If the barn door exists (and sometimes when it hasn’t), Yankee Barn has most likely incorporated it into one of our designs. One of our favorite examples is the set of “faux” barn doors one client incorporated into the exterior of their carriage house. It just goes to show, if we haven’t thought of it, our clients have; they’re a pretty creative bunch!
The beauty of a barn door system is it can be used just about anywhere, on the interior and/or exterior of a home. Barn doors come in absolutely any size and aren’t always traditional in appearance. In fact, they can be made from just about anything, such as shutters, panels, or even window sashes. Incorporated into our homes in a variety of ways, from covering a small window between two loft bedrooms to an oversize opening between a kitchen and a dining room, barn doors are a creative way to add architectural interest and good old Yankee ingenuity to any space.
At Yankee Barn Homes we pride ourselves on going the extra distance to help make your build an exciting and unique experience. Barn doors are one of those seemingly simple features which can transform a “problem area” into an major asset, both in gaining functional space and adding architectural interest. We hope the gallery of photos helps inspire your next project, whether or not you build with us. ENJOY!!
I’m looking for white interior barn doors on a black track sliding system for a home in Connecticut. Can you please give me an idea of cost and what the door could look like? I may want one door that is between 30-60 inches wide. The door will be for an office/craft room that is currently being constructed.
Hi Stacey, unfortunately we only build barn doors as part of our home kits. For a door like the one you need, please do a web search to find barn door and/or hardware suppliers in your area. There a quite a few out there. Please let me know if you need further suggestions. Go Luck! BeamBabe
I love the garage with the comment “These “barn doors” are actually overhead garage doors” – do you have the floor plan for this garage? Or if this is not your design, do you have the source of this photo? We are looking to build a garage and this would be perfect!
Hi, We are the builder of this barn (it’s actually a carriage house plan) but it’s not up on our website. Let me send your request to our sales staff. You should hear from someone soon. But if you’d like to contact us, please email us at [email protected] and reference the Sale barn. Please let me know if I may be of further help.
