When planning your barn house, or any house, be sure to consider the best way to completely utilize the third bedroom (or office space). Should you be an empty nester and into a smaller home, it could be your only guest room, but that’s okay, too. The point is to make the room work for a number of occasions, not just the fairly rare overnight guest or the less-than-daily-used office space. Combining the room into a multipurpose space where a bed for guests, a desk for administrative work anda crafting space (as just one example) can all peacefully co-exist in the same room is the objective.

Lastly, if any of you are avid sewers/crafters, check out this great blog I happened upon the other day: Sew Many Ways. This link features a blogger named Karen and photos (like the one below) of her creatively arranged “craft room”. What a great use for an old hutch!
