The loft area of a barn house is one of those great spaces which can be used for many different purposes. From home office to library, art gallery to reading nook, the possibilities for this space are limited only by the imagination. The space is airy yet private; perfect for whatever room suits your home and lifestyle. Yankee Barn Homes have many options for lofted spaces, whether the structure is a single or two story dwelling. Having been involved in a number of barn house photo shoots, I’ve had the opportunity to see firsthand how people choose to use their loft spaces.
A great use of loft space I’ve seen time and again is as a library/home office. Utility is an obvious requirement, but who says it has to look utilitarian.
Then there’s the multi-use space, to be used for whatever purpose suits us at the moment; whether it be reading, writing, studying, painting, knitting…well, you get the idea. Whatever your intent, a loft space is one of those areas which can meet the need without much, or any, alteration.
Yet another purpose for a loft space is a crafting area. Storage may be built in or free-standing. What matters is the ease with which the space transforms for its intended use.
The simple beauty of a loft is this; its uses are many and can be created to accommodate multiple purposes. If you’re lucky enough to have one of these spaces, then you already know what I’m talking about!
