We are now in the season of “OMG, I need to find a gift for_____”. Don’t panic; Post and Beam Living to the rescue! I have structured this list primarily around those of us who live in a timber frame building, but not entirely. There’s something here for everyone, so read on…
1. Bennington Potters Absolutely gorgeous pottery to suit any style post and beam (or any) home.
2. Post and Beam Dreams A great book for getting ideas, ideas, ideas. From the style of home you’re after to the little details that make a style really work, this book has got it covered.
3. House Beautiful or Elle Decor A magazine subscription is always a welcomed gift and these two are some of the best for getting ideas for any style home.
4. Third Bay Shades Custom handmade lamps and shades. This artistic duo is perfect if you’re looking for the one-of-a-kind high end lamp and/or shade no one else will have. They create their own designs and/ or will work to your specifications, including refurbishing lamp bases and using your fabric.
5. Tom Pirozzoli Art & Music One of the most gifted artists I’ve come across in a long time, Tom creates his paintings from his many travels around New England and beyond. I can attest to the fact his paintings look stunning with a post and beam house as I have one hanging in my great room. Simply Gorgeous!
6. Adirondack Rustic Furnishings A husband and wife team, both fine arts majors in college, turned their creative talents to Adirondack furniture making in 1981 and have never looked back. Their creations are masterpieces in the rustic furniture style known as Adirondack.
7. Mental Floss Tees I know, this is really random for this blog, but I have to tell you, if you’re looking for a gift for that “hard to buy for” person, this site has got you covered. I’ve used it more than I can tell you for gifts for my son-in-law, as well as my husband. If you can’t find anything in the tee shirt department, they have many other options, including a “Gift Ideas” tab.
8. Uttermost This company offers just about every furnishing and accessory for the home you could imagine, and they do it with a cause. The owner is a big supporter of Rescue Shelters and not only puts his company’s money there, he’s a rescuer, himself. All the dogs you see pictured on this site are not only rescues, they’re HIS dogs.
9. King Arthur Flour After being all over TV with a Google ad lately, you probably have already heard of this wonderful company, but in case you haven’t, this is THE site to find a gift for some who loves to cook or bake. Yummy!
10.Simon Pearce This is the “go to” website for anyone who lives in a Yankee Barn Homes structure. Absolutely any piece, albeit blown glass or pottery, will look stunning in a post and beam frame home. A gift of Simon Pearce is synonymous with “can’t fail to please”.
I hope this list helps you find the perfect gift you’ve been looking for but hadn’t yet found. Happy Holidays from Post and Beam Living!!
